About a year and a half after we had been married we decided we would try to start our family. Now its years later, many doctor appointments, surgeries, and other procedures to try and help us "get pregnant" with no success. This was a long emotional and trying time for us.
Ever since we got married adoption has always been something we have talked about. We have family members who have joined our extended family through adoption, and can't imagine our family without them. Having adoption as an option for children to join our family was almost a no brainer for us. Granted both of us had different times when we thought we should start the process, but as soon as we felt it was right at the same time, we jumped at the opportunity.
