Considering Adoption? Our Letter To You

Hi,

Thanks for being willing to take the time to get to know us a little better.  We know this is a hard and challenging time for you, and we know that the miracles you need will happen for you one step at a time.

Jami talking about Tyson
Meeting Tyson was one of the greatest blessings I have had, and continue to have each day.  There are so many great qualities I love about him.  One of them is how he shows and tells me how much he loves me every day. Examples of him showing me he loves me are when he does little things like make dinner, give me a foot message, help me to finish something I have wanted to accomplish for a while, or clean the house for me while I have to be away.  Another quality I love about him is how fun it is to watch and listen to him play with our little boy.  They have so much fun together, and I love to hear them laugh with each other.  A third quality I love about him is Family is his #1 priority and he goes out of his way to help any family member that is in need at that time.  A recent example of him doing this was to help one of our family members move into their new home when he could have been doing something for himself instead. Tyson loves to tease!  There are many times he will find a family member and just starting tickling them.  He really just enjoys getting a reaction out of you.

Tyson talking about Jami
I can't say enough about how amazing Jami is.  She is someone that you just want to be around.  She is always smiling and happy.  She loves to laugh!  At least she is always laughing at me especially when I’m not trying to be funny.  She is a great listener and wants those around her to be happy all the time.  As a natural caregiver, Jami loves helping anyone she can, especially her family.  She is always thoughtful of others, and it's so easy to love her and be loved by her.  She enjoys scrapbooking or making cards.  I just know she has a lot of that kind of stuff even though she’ll say she doesn’t.  We are always trying to spend as much time as we can with each other.  Luckily for me she likes almost everything that I like.  She just doesn’t do well with heights, so rock climbing and those types of activities we’ve kind of backed off from doing.  She is a very active and energetic person and enjoys doing anything outdoors from camping to gardening.  We aren’t the best at gardening just yet, but she is getting better and better each year.  The vegetables tasted like vegetables and the melons she grew last year were delicious.  One of the things she and her family enjoy doing together, besides working on various projects, is going four-wheeling up in the mountains near her parents’ house.  She knows and understands the family is the most important unit in the world and strives to strengthen that bond every day.  When I met Jami for the first time I could sense that.  One of our first dates we ended up at her Aunt and Uncle’s house with her grandma, mom, and her brothers and sisters.  I got thrown into the family pretty quick, and was able to convince her mom pretty early on how special I thought Jami was.  She is excited to be a part of this adoption process.  I could just go on and on about her all day, but I want to spare you the sappy details.

Extended Family
Spending time with our extended families is something we really enjoy.  Most of Tyson’s family lives fairly close together and we try to get together at least once a month to have dinner together.  This is a fun time to stay caught up on what is happening with each other (besides the phone calls that are made) and to Skype Tyson’s parents who are currently living farther away from the rest of the family.  Jami’s family is more spread out, so there are many phone calls and emails with pictures sent to help stay close together and up to date on what is happening.  Both families get together with everyone at least once and year, but usually twice a year.  We get together with each family for either Thanksgiving or Christmas and then usually have a family reunion sometime during the summer.  We like to go different places when we can.  Some of the places we have been are Lake Tahoe, Nauvoo Illinois, Bear Lake, Mount Rushmore, San Diego, Phoenix, Zions National Park, and Glacier National Park.  Some of the other places we have a goal to make it to are to Alaska, Seattle, and the East Coast.

We look forward to getting to know more about you soon.  You can email us at tysonandjami@yahoo.com.
